1st Grade - Klee Portraits
1st grade students learned about portraits with this project. Specifically, we talked about artist Paul Klee and how he does portraits, which are very simple shapes and lines put together to create the face. The 1st graders drew their portraits in Klee's style, then colored them with chalk pastels. Some of us got a little dusty, but the results look nice! Blending with chalk pastels is not an easy thing to do, and it was really interesting to see how different each student's portrait turned out. Different approaches to the project produced a wide variety of artworks. Take a look!
