This project is always popular with first grade. We begin the lesson by reading Maurice Sendak's classic Where the Wild Things Are, then discuss how maybe it's Max's "wild things" inside of him that are getting him in trouble. We then plan for a collage that details what makes us "go wild" (did you know some kids are wild about candy and video games?). The next class we used a circle stencil to give us the head shape, then added details to show what our wild things look like.
